HTC is launching an Android device on AT&T on August 3rd named the Lancaster. The Lancaster will feature a 2.8″ display and a slide out QWERTY keyboard, quadband EDGE and 850 / 1900MHz HSPA, AGPS, a 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expansion, and a “unique HTC social messaging user interface”.

HP "Obsidian", you know the people that used to dominate the smartphone market with the iPAQs back with when WinMo was good? Yeah them. They’re releasing a new device on AT&T called the iPAQ K3 “Obsidian.” What a slick and slightly ominous name. The K3 will run WinMo 6.5, and feature a 2.0MP camera, full QWERTY, 56MB of RAM, a half gig of ROM, microSD slot, GPS, triband HSDPA and quadband EDGE, WiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a QVGA display. We’re looking at a November 30th retail launch.

Motorola, a company that is slowly struggling against their decline in the mobile market, is launching two new devices, one of which has been slated as an Android device. As a result, the original launch date of June for the now-dubbed Heron is subject to change. The other device, the Sawgrass, is a simple QWERTY slider phone that’s being positioned as a text-centric device. According to Engadget, these slides might be a bit dated, so check them out for yourself if you want the info.

Nokia is planning an American carrier invasion, or at least that’s what it seems like. The Nokia Grouper, Mako, Snapper, and Thresher are all landing on AT&T. The Mako is an interesting slider phone which features a full QWERTY, dual-band HSDPA, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, AGPS, 2 megapixel camera, Video Share, and 128MB of internal storage with microSD expansion. It’s based on the same S60 3.2 platform as the E71x. Music lovers are going to shy away from the Mako however, as it uses a 2.5mm jack, which definitely kicks multimedia fans in the nuts.

Palm webOS device, named the Eos, will be heading to AT&T, maybe as soon as the second half of 2009. It’s expected to drop in time for the holidays, but that is a tentative time frame, so don’t hold your breath.

Samsung is planning to drop more phones with AT&T as well, including the Trinity, Pivot and Infinity. The Trinity appears to be in the same style of the Impression which launched earlier this year, but will be a two way slider sans AMOLED display. This is Samsung’s first two way slider. The Pivot is a touch-capable WinMo powered device and appears to be the follow up to the BlackJack, though with the newest “Jack” recently advertised by Ozzie Osbourn, the Pivot might be something else entirely. The Infinity (the name is not set yet) appears to be an inexpensive and less-feature-packed touchscreen device meant to bring the touch benefits to everyone. As with all of these phones, release dates are not set yet.
