Peer past the frenzied watermarking and you’ll see what could be Samsung’s new flagship smartphone, all set to be launched at February’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Called the i900, the Windows Mobile 6.1-powered device has an iPhone-like 3.5-inch touchscreen (albeit running at 240 x 400 rather than the Apple cellphone’s 320 x 480), quad-band GSM/UMTS with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR.
Measuring 112 x 56 x 12.5mm, Samsung have still managed to fit GPS, an FM radio, TV-out, 5-megapixel camera and a microSDHC slot for cards up to 8GB in size. The battery is believed to be 1500mAh Li-Ion. They’ve pre-loaded JAVA MIDP 2.0, an RSS reader, support for streaming media, MSN Messenger and the rather good Opera 9.0 browser.
