Many might remember the HTC Universal, a cellular-wireless Pocket PC with a clamshell design. It appears that a similar model will soon be coming on the market from i-mate.
There hasn't been an official announcement yet, but some initial reports have sprung up on the Web about this device, which will supposedly be named the K-JAR.
According to these reports, this Pocket PC can either be used in a clamshell configuration, or its 2.8-inch QVGA display can twist around to fold over it's QWERTY keyboard, putting this unit into tablet mode.
If these reports are correct, the K-JAR will be a GSM/GPRS/EDGE device with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
It will supposedly run Windows Mobile on a TI OMAP750 processor, and include 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of ROM.
It should be pointed out that, unlike the HTC Universal, this handheld has reportedly been designed by TechFaith.
When the i-mate K-JAR will debut and at what price is not known at this time.
